Work in progress on new rehabilitation enclosures

As a registered Non-Profit Organisation, FreeMe is dependent on donations of all kinds for the care of the wildlife.

This continuous requirement for food, medicine, transport and general overhead costs greatly reduces the expenses for the rehabilitation of animals. Various services are also required to keep costs low.

This changing wish list consists of the items below.

Appliances & Electrical: Improvements, safety & maintenance:
Many of the appliances run 8-16 hours a day, 365 and need replacing, often:

  • Industrial washing machine
  • Chest freezer
  • Generator/invertor/UPS
  • Industrial blender
  • High-end kitchen scissors
  • Microwave oven
  • Commercial food processors
  • Heaters, fans, aircons (for humans and animals)
  • LED alternatives
  • Light fittings, sockets, junction boxes, connectors, pop-up desk multi-plugs
  • Light bulbs (2ft & 4ft fluorescent, bayonet and screw type, ceramic heat bulbs, 100-175 infrared bulbs, UV bulbs)

Our Wild-One database allows us to capture and report on scientific data regarding the animals that we care for.  We require a reliable IT platform for this online database to be effective:

  • Laptops (less than 2 yrs old)
  • Tablets with keyboard and stylus (for Clinic)
  • Tablets with keyboard and stylus (for Animal Care Dept)
  • Tablet with keyboard and stylus (for Courier Dept)
  • Each item needs a security lock to safeguard against theft
  • 2kw UPS inverter
Hygiene: IT equipment:
  • Cleaning and hygiene materials, standard household materials
  • Washing powder
  • Cloths, brushes, brooms, squeegies & mops
  • Paper towels, toilet rolls and dispensers
  • Notebooks (for use in educational presentation with our schools program)
  • Desktop and notebook components and peripherals – we always repair before replacing
  • 19″+ LCD monitors
  • 32″+ screen for presentations
  • Flash-drives and portable hard drives
  • 3-in-1 printers
  • Label printer
  • Ink cartridges – we purchase from the Inky Shop at Fourways Crossing (a list is available at the store)
